BIO:
Bonjour my friends! I'm Avril, which means April in French. If you're looking to put a little spring in your step (April/spring, get it?), then I'm the gal for you, because walks are one of my favorite things. But my absolute number one activity is sharing love with every human I meet. Honestly, I could give kisses all day long, and the only payment expected is lots of pets and belly rubs.

Little is known about my history other than I was picked up as a stray and taken to an overcrowded, high-kill Texas animal control facility. It took me no time at all to adapt to my new surroundings when FTF brought me to the Chicago area. While I was initially a bit shy at my first adoption event (held at a busy pet store), I quickly started schmoozing and leaning in for pets. Life is great in my foster home. I've become my foster mom's shadow and official alarm clock. Every morning, she invites me up on the bed for a cuddle session before we start our day. Then I help with chores around the house (I especially like kitchen duty) and chill out on the couch or dog bed when my assistance isn't needed. A few other facts to share: I'm totally potty trained and don't need to be crated, as I wouldn't think of chewing anything that isn't mine. I do fine with other canines and could easily fit in as the second dog in your household. The only requirement for my adoption is that you enroll us in training classes (required for all young FTF pups). What a great opportunity that will be for us to socialize, while I learn lots of new skills (including not pulling on the leash, which I admit I sometimes do).

My foster mom says I'm a low-maintenance pooch who just needs a loving home, plenty of human company, and a couple of walks a day. Are you interested in teaming up? If so, please fill out an adoption application ASAP, so we can start our new life by taking a long walk together!

Love and licks,
Avril

If you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.
