BIO:
Greetings from Chai, a little Texas transplant (found as a stray) looking for love in Illinois. I must not have had many socialization opportunities as a pup, because I'm a shy girl who takes a while to warm up to new people and places. Although I'm not yet a lap dog (I do like to stay near my FTF foster mom), this may change as I settle in and come to understand I'll always be treated with patience and kindness.
One of my favorite activities is lying in the sun and watching the world around me before taking a nap. So it would be terrific if you had a fenced yard or balcony. I also enjoy playing with small squeaky toys and being rewarded with treats. My food motivation will be a plus when you sign us up for training classes (a requirement for all young FTF pups). As I catch on quickly to new skills like leash walking, I'll gain confidence and blossom into the brave little girl I was always meant to be!
I'm potty trained and consider the crate to be my den, sleeping in it overnight and sometimes retreating to it during the day. I get along great with other small dogs and would be delighted to have a canine sibling to mentor me in my forever home. I'm so looking forward to finally finding my person/family. If you think we might be the perfect match, please fill out an adoption application and come and meet me ASAP.
Love and licks,
Chai
If you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.
