"What a cute little dumpling!" Yep, that's me! Dumpling is the name, and lots of playtime and love is the game! I am described as a perfect blend of mischievous, goofy and lovable, and I would thrive with an active family who will be up for lots of fun and adventure. My favorite activities include long walks at area forest preserves, sprinting and playing catch in my backyard (my ideal forever home will include a securely fenced yard), and cuddling with my family as much as possible. I love kids and currently live with 6 and 8 year-old boys, get along great with other dogs and would do well with a canine buddy who likes to play, and I have even been respectful of a kitty cat when I met one. I am happiest when I am with my people, and would prefer a family where someone is home more often than not so we can enjoy each other's company.
I am a smart boy, but like all young dogs I still have more to learn. I am already potty trained, but could use some continued help with my manners such as jumping up when I am excited and remembering what items in the house are appropriate chew toys. Fetching Tails requires adopters of young dogs like me to sign us up for training classes, and I am excited to see how much more I can learn by your side! I am very treat motivated, and word on the doggie street is that you can get lots of treats during training, so I am ready to show off my big brain in class! If you promise to give me a loving home, I promise to keep you entertained for life with my silly, happy-go-lucky charm and sweet affection!
If you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.
When you adopt a dog, you're not buying a pet. Your donation isn't a fee for your adoptee - it's a gift that helps us pursue our mission, save lives, and ensure we can provide care to all the dogs in our program.
