BIO:
Party on! My name is Garth, and I am a special dude who is looking for patient, affectionate people to show me the good life and make me feel safe. You see, when I was younger I was rescued from a house with 40 other dogs, and I have never really gotten over my nerves from that experience. I am a super loving guy who bonds very tightly with my people once I feel settled; my ideal forever family will have a quiet home without many visitors because strangers make me uncomfortable. I adore other dogs and they help bring me out of my shell: I would do best in a home with a canine companion to play with. I would also love a securely fenced yard (I need a tall fence that is at least 5 feet tall, please!) where I can romp and lounge in the sun. My favorite activities include playing tug-of-war and wrestling with my humans, chewing on deer antlers, and most especially cuddling and snuggling!
I am patient and respectful with the kids in my home, but I would do best with older children who understand I can startle easily and will remember not to surprise me. I am very smart and listen well: I am already potty and crate trained, and also know commands including sit, come, off, high five, and crate. Even though I already know a bunch, maybe we could still sign up for positive reinforcement training classes together so I can keep working on my social skills and we could strengthen our bond together? All dogs are works in progress, and more than anything I would love a family who will help me be my best self and continue to blossom. If you think you could provide me with a lifetime of safety, love, and snuggles, please fill out an adoption application soon!
If you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.
