BIO:
Hola! I am Gomez, and I am an affectionate fella who is on the lookout for a forever family that will help me shine! I am a silly, active young dude who will thrive with patient, dog-savvy humans who will teach me how to be the best furry friend I can be. My new friends at FTF rescued me from an animal sanctuary in Texas where I was dumped by my previous owner, so I am catching up on all I should have learned in my early puppyhood days. I am friendly with other large dogs, but prefer ones who are playful and tolerant of my goofy antics because I like to think of myself of the boss of my doggie posse; I would do best in a home without cats or small dogs and I also like my own space while eating, so please separate me from my furry friends when I have a meal or treat. I would also prefer any children in my new family be older (13+) while I continue to work on my manners and socialization skills - I can be shy initially with new people but am very treat motivated and find my confidence when offered a tasty treat. This will come in handy when we take training classes together, which is a requirement of my adoption; I am smart and eager to learn so I think it will be the first of many fun adventures we have together. I have mastered potty and crate training, and have made great improvements with my leash skills for walks around the neighborhood. I am excited to see how much more we can learn together!

My foster dad describes me as a Velcro dog once I settle in: he frequently finds me napping right next to him or as his shadow when walking around the house. So if you are looking for a loyal pup, I could definitely be the guy for you! I have a big personality and a lot of love to give - if you think you could be the lucky family to help guide me and provide me with my happily ever after, I hope you fill out an adoption application soon!

If you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.
