Hi friends! My name is Jelena, and I am a mellow girl who would love kind, calm humans to show me the good life. I was rescued from a house with 30 other doggies and had heartworm, but now that I am recovering from treatment and feeling so much better, I am ready to experience a life of luxury in a comfy, quiet home to call my own! I hope for some patience while I come out of my shell and settle into my new life. I can be shy at first, but am always sweet and want to be loved. I get along with kids, but any children in my home should be old enough to understand not to leave doors or gates open or else I might go for an adventure on my own. I get along great with other dogs and would prefer a home where there is another canine friend; I am also cat friendly, too. I enjoy going for walkies then sunbathing in the grass on a warm summer day, so I need a fenced yard at my forever home. I'm potty trained, and also crate trained: I consider it my safe space where I like to relax and nap. I would thrive with a family that will sign me up for training classes - I think it will help me with my confidence and would be a great way to build our bond together. If you are the special people to help me shine, I hope you fill out an adoption application soon!
If you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.
When you adopt a dog, you're not buying a pet. Your donation isn't a fee for your adoptee - it's a gift that helps us pursue our mission, save lives, and ensure we can provide care to all the dogs in our program.
