Oooh, ooh, my name is Lovely Rita -- if you are the special family that will give me the life I have always dreamed about, I can promise that nothing can come between us! You see, I didn't receive the best care in my pre-rescue life and came to Fetching Tails with untreated diabetes and heartworm positive. But now that I am recovering from my heartworm treatment and am receiving insulin to regulate my glucose levels, I feel like a brand new Rita and am ready to enjoy life! I am a very friendly little lady who would love to have doggie siblings in my forever home: my favorite activities include running and playing in the yard with my canine pals, sunbathing, and cuddling with my humans. I will also make you laugh with my enthusiastic happy dance at meal times! I have good house manners, too: I'm potty trained and working on crate training (I would rather be cuddling or playing, but eventually I settle down and nap.) My ideal forever home will include a fenced yard so I have room to run, and caring humans who will continue to provide my insulin injections and prescription food to regulate my diabetes. I hope you fill out an adoption application soon!
If you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.
When you adopt a dog, you're not buying a pet. Your donation isn't a fee for your adoptee - it's a gift that helps us pursue our mission, save lives, and ensure we can provide care to all the dogs in our program.
