Matlock is a happy, social boy who loves both people and dogs. He's currently fostered with two small dogs and one big dog and fit right in without hesitation. He initiated play with the smaller dogs right away and loves to chase them around the yard. He doesn't play rough and really enjoys running and being part of the pack.
He's still working on his potty training and tends to mark, which may improve once he's neutered, but he's learning. Crate training is a work in progress-he's not a big fan yet, but he's getting there with patience and consistency.
Matlock adores his foster family's kids, ages 12 and 15, and would likely be great with kids of any age. He's still a bit puppy-ish and can be mildly mouthy at times, but nothing excessive. His energy level is the perfect mix-not too hyper and not overly calm.
He loves his people and enjoys spending time near them, so a home without shared walls would be best since he tends to bark when left alone. He's a smart boy who loves to play with other dogs, chew on hard toys, and be part of family life. He's also a bit of a goofball who likes to steal papers, cords, and anything he can reach, so he'll keep you laughing as he learns his boundaries.
Matlock would be a wonderful companion for someone who works from home or has time to help guide him as he continues to learn how to "dog." With a little patience and understanding, he'll grow into an incredible, loyal family member.
