BIO:
Woof, greetings! My name is Maya. I've been referred to as "Houdini" due to my back story. I was found as a stray by a good Samaritan, however I managed to escape from my enclosure! Fortunately, some kind folks in Texas found me and brought me into their care. Outside of being a beauty to look at, I am very social! I get along with dogs of all sizes and I would love to have a friend (or two) to play-wrestle or chase. I am cat friendly, too: I was very gentle with a kitty when I met her and gave lots of sweet kisses and sniffs. When I finally tire out, you can find me snuggling up in some blankets or chewing on a bone. I am a very energetic girl and an active family who enjoys going for runs or a hike through the woods would be wonderful for me! I am working on my manners, so you might witness some puppy shenanigans like a nibble on your pant leg, chewing on something that doesn't belong to me or an occasional accident. I'm receptive to commands and I know I'll grow out of these habits soon! Training classes would be a fun experience for us both and I would love to learn some new tricks. By the way, Fetching Tails requires adopters of young dogs like me to sign us up for training classes. I enjoy going for long walks (more so "gallops") and I don't seem to mind the Midwest weather! A yard with a 5 ft. fence (at minimum) is very important, as this will prevent any future escapes. I am not the biggest fan of going into my crate for bedtime and because I vocalize my displeasure, a home with no shared walls would be best for me. Don't worry about the neighbors though, as I know they'll be a fan of me too!

Are you ready to make this gorgeous gal a permanent member of your family? If you are interested in meeting me, all you need to do is fill out an application! Looking forward to seeing you soon.

XOXO,
Maya

If you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.
