BIO:
Hey there, I'm Maya, a beautiful, bouncy girl with a heart full of love and a dash of mischief! I've earned the nickname "Houdini" thanks to a bit of a daring backstory (let's just say I might have pulled a sneaky escape or two). But those days are behind me, and I'm now safe, sound, and ready to find my forever family. I'm a total people pup - social, sweet, and always ready to snuggle. My fur is as soft as a sherpa blanket, and if you're into giving pets, well... we're basically soulmates. I've got energy for days, so I'd love an active home where we can go on long walks, hikes, or even runs. Adventure is my middle name!
I'm still working on my manners, so I'm looking for an experienced adopter who's up for some gentle guidance and training. I sometimes get a little too excited and might nibble on a pant leg or chew something I shouldn't - classic puppy stuff! Training classes (which my rescue requires!) will help me become the best version of myself, and I'm totally down to learn. When it comes to other dogs, I can be a bit picky - what can I say, I have high standards! With slow, patient introductions, I can make furry friends, but I'll need my own space at mealtime and with toys since I can be a little possessive.
The good news? I'm crate-trained, potty-trained, and even give a polite little whine when I need to go out. I love my crate - it's like my cozy little den. Just a heads-up, though: I still have a bit of that escape-artist spirit in me, so I'll need a secure 6-ft fenced yard and should be leashed outdoors until I'm fully settled in. I know I'm not a "plug-and-play" pup, but with a consistent routine, structure, and lots of love, I promise to blossom into the most loyal, fun-loving companion you could ask for. Think we're a match? Fill out an application - I can't wait to meet you and start our next great adventure together!
If you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.
