Howdy! If you are looking for a soulful sidekick to keep you company for the holidays and forever, my name is Pudge and I am a special little guy who dreams about having a patient family to love me for life. You see, I was rescued with 16 of my friends from an abandoned home where we were living in our own fifth with limited food and water. As you can imagine, I am still coming out of my shell after that experience and can be shy when meeting new people. But if you give me some time, I am the most affectionate fella who loves the simple joys of sitting next to you for a nice back massage. I also enjoy playing games of hide and seek, where I find cozy places I think you can't find me, then wait for you to come pick me up for more nice pets. I would do best in a home without young children because they scare me (I voluntarily retreat to my crate when my foster mom's toddler grandchildren come over), and my ideal forever family will include another dog because I love to play with pups both big and small - they really help my confidence blossom! I would also do best with a fenced yard to enjoy at my forever home because I like to have my own safe space that I can explore instead of going for walks around the neighborhood (I am still learning leash-walking skills).

Speaking of learning, my forever family will have to agree to sign me up for training classes so I can learn more about this big, fun world I am now part of since leaving that horrible house from my past. I think it would really help me with my confidence and classes will be a great bonding experience for us. I am a smart dude who just needs patience and guidance: I am already mostly potty trained (I know to do my business outside, but might have an accidental piddle if I get spooked while settling in) and absolutely love my crate - it is my safe space where I like to relax. If you think you could make my holiday wishes come true and be the special person to help me blossom into the happy-go-lucky Pudge I am meant to be, please fill out an adoption application soon so we can get to know each other!

If you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.
