Hi there! My name is Stoli, and I'm a Shih-Tzu/Maltese mix, estimated to be 5 years old and 13 pounds, who ready to meet my forever family through Fetching Tails Foundation. As you can see, I have a scar on my head and body from a previous burn, but I like to consider it more as a beauty mark that makes me unique. My facial expressions will make you want to love and cuddle me, which I enjoy very much! In my ideal forever home, I would be the only furry companion (no other dogs or cats, please!) so I can have all your attention for myself. I also require an adult-only home without children, as I am a timid guy and appreciate patient humans who respect that although I love to snuggle and be held, sometimes I also need some 'me time' and personal space. My preferred residence would be single-family house (no apartments or condos, please!) with a fenced yard so I can enjoy the outdoors at my leisure.
I'm learning so much about how to enjoy the world around me thanks to my foster parents and am looking forward to continuing to blossom with a forever family of my own. I am crate trained and can be left home alone to rest in mine while you are gone for a few hours. And I am fully potty trained, too: I will let you know when I need to do my business by going to the door. I can be a weary of new people and I may bark, so I prefer slow introductions to help me feel comfortable. Women are my favorite, but with a little time to know we are friends I get along with men as well (my favorite nap place is now stretched out on my foster dad's belly!) I am a smartie-pants and have learned a few commands including sit and give paw! Overall, I'm a calm dude with a silly streak that will make you laugh when I feel playful, and my favorite activity is being by your side. As much as I enjoy my foster home, I'm ready to spread my wings and find my devoted forever family who will give me the love and cuddles I have dreamed about my whole life. Could that be with you?
If you'd like to adopt this dog please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent). Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.
When you adopt a dog, you're not buying a pet. Your donation isn't a fee for your adoptee - it's a gift that helps us pursue our mission, save lives, and ensure we can provide care to all the dogs in our program.
