Meet Cheddar!
This sweet, goofy guy is only 5 months old and already 41 pounds, so he's well on his way to becoming a big boy! Cheddar is an adorable husky/shepherd mix who came to us as an owner surrender from Texas after his family moved and unfortunately couldn't take him along.
Cheddar is the kind of puppy who believes that life is better when you're doing it with friends, especially the two- and four-legged kind! He's dog-friendly with both male and female dogs and absolutely loves to rough-house and play. Despite his enthusiasm, he's very submissive with his canine friends and would likely be a fantastic candidate for dog daycare, play groups, or a home with another playful pup.
He's also extremely people-oriented and loves both adults and kids. In true puppy fashion, Cheddar can get a little jumpy when he's excited, so he'll benefit from continued work on his manners as he grows. More than anything, though, this boy wants to be with his people! He's very people-obsessed and appears to have some mild separation anxiety, so his future family should be prepared to help him build confidence and learn that it's okay to have some alone time.
Cheddar has plenty of puppy energy and would love a family who enjoys long walks, outdoor adventures, and plenty of playtime. Once the fun is over, he's more than happy to curl up for some serious human snuggles.
He's currently working on potty training and crate training. He's a smart puppy and should pick up both with consistency, patience, and reassurance that everything is okay.
If you're looking for a big-hearted puppy who wants to be your best friend, play with every dog he meets, and then climb into your lap for a cuddle (regardless of his rapidly increasing size), Cheddar may be your guy!
