Nelle is a 4-year-old, 98-pound Great Pyrenees mix who is sweet, gentle, loving, and just a little bit lazy. She's the kind of girl who would happily spend her day lounging near you, soaking up the sunshine, and waiting for her next snuggle.

Nelle has the funniest little way of asking for attention-she'll press her face right up against your leg for pets. And if there's a golf cart nearby? She's getting on it. She absolutely loves golf cart rides and has even been known to hop onto a neighbor's golf cart when given the opportunity. ??

Nelle loves people, kids, dogs, and other animals. She isn't overly playful, but she genuinely enjoys having other animals around. Her favorite things are simple: being near her people, cuddling, going for walks, chewing on a good bone, lounging in the sunroom, and riding around on the golf cart.

Her past is heartbreaking. We know very little about where she came from, other than that animal control found her tied outside with her puppies in below-freezing temperatures. Despite everything she has been through, Nelle is an absolute lover.

Nelle is potty trained, but she does have separation and storm anxiety. When she is scared, she may have an accident in the house. She also does not do well being left alone in a crate or other confined space and can try desperately to escape, even putting herself at risk of injury. Because of this, she needs an experienced, understanding adopter who is home often and can give her the consistency and security she needs.

Her dream home may be a homebody who works from home or retired. She doesn't need constant entertainment or to be glued to your side. She simply needs to know her people are there.

Nelle isn't looking for a perfect life. She's looking for a safe one.

A home where she can finally relax, feel secure, snuggle her favorite people, take a golf cart ride, and spend her days knowing she isn't going to be left behind again.
