Meet Smudge
Smudge is the kind of girl who doesn't just enter a room - she bursts into it with joy. This sweet, high-energy pup is dog friendly and absolutely loves to play. She's a big fan of wrestling, squeaky toys, and zooming around the yard whenever she gets the chance. She may not always realize how big she is, but her enthusiasm is all heart.

She's still very much a puppy at under a year old, and it shows in the most lovable ways. Smudge is bright and eager to learn, currently working on potty training. She's already shown she can go days without accidents, and with consistency and patience, she's sure to master it quickly. Crate training is also a work in progress. She isn't a fan of being crated just yet and will cry when left alone, but we're helping her build positive associations by feeding meals and offering treats inside to make it her safe space.

Smudge hasn't been introduced to cats or kids yet, but her friendly, affectionate nature suggests she could do well with elementary-aged children and older - especially those who don't mind an occasional enthusiastic jump hello. On leash, she does great, but once she's free, she's ready to run, explore, and live life to the fullest. Keeping her calm post-spay has been a challenge because this girl just wants to move!

She thrives on exercise, training sessions, and any kind of treat you're willing to offer. She would do best with a foster or adopter who understands puppy behavior - think sock stealing, chewing, and lots of playful energy.

Smudge's backstory is unknown, but what we do know is that she is incredibly sweet and eager to bond. She's expected to fill out a bit more as she grows, and she will absolutely become your "velcro girl," happiest when she's close to her person.
